When a model needs to stand out from other models you could decide to add led deck lights, a lighted bottom plate or a lighted logo. We can also construct electric hatches, propellors or spinning rotor blades on a helicopter so that people will not just walk by your model.
We have constructed a number of functional models as well. A very nice example is the Knuckle boom crane; it can be operated by hand as well as move automatic to demonstrate the procedure for which the crane has been designed. Inside the model there is a standalone motion controller to perform programmed motions.
